Novice Agility Stunt Dog (NASD)

To Earn you Novice Agility Stunt Dog includes a certificate and sash for your dog

• Dog must be aged 12 months or over

Demonstrate the skills set out in the criteria (course is attached as a photo) below in one unedited video submission or have obtained one jumping clear round at an agility competition plus the Novice Amateur Trick Dog.

Please ensure there is a clear view of your whole area in the video including a clear view of the ends of the contacts and weaves.

Please ensure there is a minimum of 5m in a straight line between obstacles in the sequence they are performed.

Maximum time allowed for the agility course is 5 minutes. The dog must make contact with all down contacts on the A-Frame, Dog Walk and Seesaw

You may choice the height of the jumps and tire/ hoop that you want to jump. All contact agility equipment must be at full regulation height.

If you do not have any of the equipment, please contact me for a substitution

Rules:

CUES: The handler may give multiple cues per obstacle unless specifically specified. Praise and encouragement at any time is fine. During the agility course no physical contact with the dog is allowed

TREATS: Treats/ toys may not be used until the end of the performance but praise at any time is allowed. No contact mats or disc may be used within the agility course

QUALIFYING: Applicant has 3 months to resubmit the test that did not qualify, at no additional cost. Application fee will not be refunded.

Novice Agility Stunt Dog Criteria

Enter ring and perform a perimeter circle on lead anti-clockwise

  • Proceed to a place 6 feet from the start line/ first obstacle and assume the ready position

  • Stay on the start line – handler backs up 4 feet towards the first obstacle for 5 seconds, then return to your dog and assume the ready position

  • Handler circles the dog at a 2 feet distance whilst dog stays on the start line, then return to your dog and assume the ready position

  • Perform one trick on the start line of a Novice level or higher, then return to your dog and assume the ready position

  • Complete the agility course (picture of course is attached). The course should be a clear round

  • Play with your dog and exit
